Understand that you alone determine whether or not you are doing the right thing.
This becomes clear once we strip away the conditioning that our culture hoists upon us, yet so many people fail to see it.
They carry all of that weight on their shoulders like Atlas carried the world.
They were taught that living according to their own values is an undesirable trait.
Whose desire is more important, that of those who want you to stay in your place, or your own?
I’ve mixed it up with people from a lot of different cultures, and they all have different beliefs (surprise).
One man believes you’re going to burn in hell if you do one thing.
Another man believes you’re going to burn in hell if you don’t do that same thing.
They’re both right.
If you live according to other people’s beliefs, you are damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.
This tells you what you need to know about the relevance of other peoples beliefs to your life’s purpose.
The one whose approval most determines whether or not you “make it” is the person staring back at you in the mirror.
Make him your hero, and follow him into the depths of hell if necessary.
Love him unconditionally, for he is the only one who can carry you to the promised land.
